you get a 60 SECOND RIDE with UROBOROS in VRML 2.0
THE PRESUMPTIONS OF SEEING 'EVERYTHING':
We seek to 'know' by seeing and touching that which is deemed REAL...'This is a snake', let's call it 'space and time', sometimes a 'symbol of ETERNITY', that 'eats its tail' and paradoxically returns renewed. Unreal?
To some, it may appear a 'fun house' ornament; a quarter dropped at the foot of the 'eye', admission gained. Okay, the 'oracle' is made of wax, the snake is wired, 'we see through it all!'. 'Let's do the ride, in any case!'And so, ultimately, in UROBOROS VRML 2.0, we can delight in being deceived and seduced by the pleasures of some kind of 'kinaesthesia'. Within those worlds of paradox, SPACE is a 'pregnant' construct, dimension is relative, objects exist within other objects...TIME is experienced, strange, one could say 'DILATED'...
Many of the world objects, that you will encounter, will 'speak' (like 'Surrealist statues') of a 'life within'. (In worlds of 'techno-facts' they are termed 'hot objects' and contain audio and motion picture stories.) Some objects cover others, some textures 'torture' shapes within. 'Weird art' to some that pencil push...'Enough of metaphor!', you say. 'Give us the facts!' Like 'Navigation'? If you are unfamiliar with the rules of NAVIGATION within the strange place of suspended worlds, refer to the NAVIGATION-INSTRUCTION PAGE prior to entry. This page is specific to early Cosmo Player and will be updated. The 'master plan' identifying the various INDIVIDUAL WORLDS, and their relationships is found on SPATIAL SCHEMATIC page. Here you can access individual WORLD PAGE content using HTML-ONLY VIEWING, or examing the content in SAMPLE VRML-EMBED pages. The later category pertains to browsers that support 'EMBED' or 'OBJECT' tags. Enough facts?
And whether you ultimately find the experience akin to'space travel' or 'Angel flight' or a visit beyond the 'Looking Glass', the experience that awaits you will engage your presumptions of 'how things are' and 'what they mean'. The viewer only looking for 'facts' and 'explanations' will hardly stay, since 'childhood's flights of fancy' have long abandoned them.
Some objects there are large, some small, some distances great, some curiously not. So, what is dimension now? How will you know? Perhaps it is the 'Cave' that Plato once wrote about? Whatever handle you place on it, within that 'belly of the snake' all THINGS and viewpoints become transparent and in flux. Reminiscent of days of fun-house fortune tellers and strange labyrinths to inhabit for a thrill and a quarter, the only 'price of admission' you have to pay is one of small respect to the 'artifice' - once termed 'ORACLE', or 'ALL-SEEING EYE' - now hung upon this page as last reminder of the 'Presumption of Seeing Everything'. At least, that's what the 'technological' AVATAR (which is your vehicle and sight) presumes to offer, until the door is passed and shut behind you. There is another price of 'admission', lest one forget. The VRML 'browser'. These worlds have been optimized for COSMO PLAYER (PC) or INTERVISTA WORLD VIEW (MAC), and without which your next step leads 'nowhere'.
