4D Holographic Motion-Picture Systems by Al Razutis (designer, developer) is being developed by Surreality Innovations Inc. and Visual Alchemy Studio based on original R & D. Al Razutis went to Burning Man 2015 and filmed the art, people, and various creations and events in a spontaneous setting and documented this world-famous 'anarchist art event'. These films will be released in 2016 as a single 2D film and a number of stereoscopic 3D experimental films by Razutis. Al Razutis' 1970 optical printing classic AAEON was presented in a program of West-Coast Experimental Films joining other classic films and makers including Bruce Conner (Cosmic Ray, Crossroads), David Rimmer (Variations on a Cellophane Wrapper), and Pat O'Neill (7362, Runs Good) presented November 23, 2015 at The Cinematheque, Vancouver, Canada.
Al Razutis' films from titled 'Vortex' and 'A Message From Our sponsor' were screened in group shows of experimental films and makers in March and February at the Cinematheque, Montreal and The Cinematheque, Vancouver, Canada.
For the last few years the personal film - video - holography - writing archives of Al Razutis have been undergoind 'excavation' and re-publication or further archiving when necessary. This has resulted in a number of works recovered and archived for restoration and storage of original elements and their documentations. All film elements and completed films are now stored at the Academy Film Archives in Hollywood, California which is where Al Razutis is from in his coming of age and initial film activities.
In 2012 at NSA 2012 Conference 3D Con in Southern California Al Razutis presented a Holographic Art mini-exhibitioon of selected holograms and conducted a 3D & Holography workshop for National Stereoscopic Association public members. The hologrphy exhibition was presented in conjunction with other stereoscopic 3D displays. The 3D & VR Workshop examined the relationship between stereoscopic 3D and various forms of holographic works. With thanks to Ray Zone for the invitation, to Chuck Paxton and Danguole Varnas for assistance in the preparation and installation, and to Gary Cullen for the loan of display holograms for use in the workshop presentation which also included Razutis' holograms.
